I like this Rumi quote because it speaks to my belief that life and love flow through us in waves that we must learn to ride and enjoy, rather than resist and protest. Riding the waves requires surrender to the flow... the unpredictable and unknown directions, conditions, currents, and destinations that arise along our personal and spiritual journey.
The Challenge of Surrender
Surrender requires trust in the Divine Order behind it all. "All you ever need, when the journey gets intense, is held within your keeping... Oversoul Love-Sense." That is a Divine message I received a while back which has been at the forefront of my mind as of late. Replaying over and over, especially during moments when I have felt overwhelmed with heaviness, or feelings of sadness, and anxiety.
I have been getting over heartbreak. But because this has been a recurring theme in my life these past months, it´s becoming less painful to endure. I won´t deny grieving the end of something I felt was special and once in a lifetime. But I have developed greater resilience and deeper trust in the Divine. Limiting self-sabotaging urges to suffer in despair, trying to understand, deconstruct, or overanalyze the play-by-play. Knowing I must accept and will grow from how the situation unfolded.
The Power of Trust
What is meant for me, will be. What is meant for me is thinking of me, actively coming towards me, and will manifest. What is meant for me... no flaws or past trauma, no miscommunication, no obstacle will prevent. And if it does, then that destination was meant to be a pit stop and not a place of residence. What I project is what I attract. If I gave someone my best with honesty, openness, and unconditional love... that is what I will reap... from whoever is meant to return it.
In meditating on the Oversoul Love-Sense, I was led to an essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson, one of my favorite writers. I want to share excerpts from his essay, The Over-Soul, which best encompass the meaning I am subscribing to Oversoul Love-Sense. The all-knowing, all-seeing, all-sensing, all-manifesting common heart which unites us all; the Source and infinite flow of Divine Wisdom and Unconditional Love. The revelations that inspire us and the perennial miracle that can only be experienced and fully appreciated in trust.
Oversoul: The Perceiver and Revealer of Truth
“Man is a stream whose source is hidden. Our being is descending into us from we know not whence… When I watch that flowing river, which, out of regions I see not, pours for a season its streams into me, I see that I am a pensioner; not a cause, but a surprised spectator of this ethereal water… that Unity, that Over-soul, within which every man's particular being is contained and made one with all other; that common heart, of which all sincere conversation is the worship, to which all right action is submission… within man is the soul of the whole; the wise silence; the universal beauty, to which every part and particle is equally related; the eternal ONE...
When it breathes through his intellect, it is genius; when it breathes through his will, it is virtue; when it flows through his affection, it is love. Before the revelations of the soul, Time, Space, and Nature shrink away… The soul looketh steadily forwards, creating a world before her, leaving worlds behind her. She has no dates, nor rites, nor persons, nor specialties, nor men. It is an ebb of the individual rivulet before the flowing surges of the sea of life. The soul answers never by words, but by the thing itself that is inquired after. Revelation is the disclosure of the soul. Do not require a description of the countries towards which you sail. The description does not describe them to you, and to-morrow you arrive there, and know them by inhabiting them… the world is the perennial miracle which the soul worketh... front the morrow in the negligency of that trust which carries God with it, and so hath already the whole future in the bottom of the heart.”
My heightened intuition has been significantly diminished and my precognition temporarily disabled, and I know this is my Divinity teaching me to walk with a spiritual blindfold on. To subdue my fears by learning how to better function from faith. To "walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV). One foot in front of the other, living fully one day at a time. Not preoccupied with interpreting the past, overanalyzing the present, or foreseeing the future. Receptive and attuned, feeling, experiencing, and sensing in real-time, letting my Oversoul Love-Sense guide my forward momentum.
Functioning from Faith: One Day at a Time
My heightened intuition has been significantly diminished and my precognition temporarily disabled, and I know this is my Divinity teaching me to walk with a spiritual blindfold on. To subdue my fears by learning how to better function from faith. To "walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV). One foot in front of the other, living fully one day at a time. Not preoccupied with interpreting the past, overanalyzing the present, or foreseeing the future. Receptive and attuned, feeling, experiencing, and sensing in real-time, letting my Oversoul Love-Sense guide my forward momentum.
No fear, no doubts, no expectations, no certainty, no revelations... only Trust.
