I was feeling quite philosophical today, so this post is going to follow that flow... and, of course, always thanks to the incredible works by Steiner that allow me to express my thoughts.
"A soul must be very advanced before deeds can be performed from which nothing is to be gained for itself; but then the world profits all the more. Love is the “moral” sun of the world. Interest in the earth's evolution is the necessary antecedent of love. A Spiritual Science without love would be a danger for humanity. We owe our existence to deeds of love wrought in the past. To pay off debts through deeds of love is therefore wisdom."
"As well as love there are two other powers: might and wisdom. To these two, the concepts of magnitude and enhancement are applicable, but not to love. The all-embracing attribute of the Godhead is therefore not omnipotence, not omniscience, but love. God is supreme love, not supreme might, not supreme wisdom."
In this world, we are often tempted to focus solely on the conquest of supreme might or supreme wisdom considering these the means to unlocking and harnessing the Infinite. But in actuality, Love is the only key.
"Love mediated by way of the senses is the wellspring of creative power, of that which is coming into being. Without sense-born love, nothing material would exist in the world; without spiritual love, nothing spiritual can arise in evolution."
This is my calling... my purpose... to be a guiding Light… to spread Love... to be a vessel for Source. Love comes into the world through the spreading of knowledge of spiritual truths, but propagation requires seeds.
Germination is the process a seed goes through when it “wakes up” from its dormant state and starts to grow. I am waiting to germinate the seeds of a complimentary Creative Force.
For man to be able to attain Ancient Wisdom, he must desire it... long for it. In so doing, he takes the creative soul-force of Wisdom inwards... into his body allowing him to self fructify. But there comes a pivotal point when man turns that force outwards with the desire to unite himself with another... to love.
"The separation of the sexes appears when the earth attains a certain condition of density. The density of matter partly checks the power of reproduction, and that portion of the reproductive force which is still effective requires completion from outside by the opposite force in another human being.... The male soul in the female body and the female soul in the male body both become bisexual again through fructification by the mind. Thus do man and woman differ in their outer form, and, within, the one-sidedness of the soul unites itself in both sexes to a harmonious whole. Within, mind and soul melt into unity. The mind affects as female the male soul in woman, and thus makes it male-female; it works upon the female soul in man, as male, and so forms it female-male."
If your desire for love led you to your counterpart, your equal, your opposing and yet perfectly complimentary force... would you be able to recognize it as such? If so, would you be willing to put in the effort required to connect with that force?
"If we try to discover the source of whatever is creative we come to love; love is the ground, the foundation of everything that lives... True love is not capable of diminution or amplification. Its nature is quite different from that of wisdom and might."
To Love is to be of service, with no expectations… to accept without conditions.
"Striving for perfection imparts strength to our being and to our personality. But our value for the world must be seen to lie wholly in deeds of love, not in deeds done for the sake of self-perfecting."
We are meant to create for the benefit of humanity, but with no desire to exploit.
"Love saturated with wisdom or wisdom penetrated with love is the highest goal. The feminine is that element in the world which strives outward in order to be fructified by the eternal elements of life."
So I will continue to strive outward, learning unconditional Love and patiently awaiting the Creative Soul-force of Wisdom to manifest in my Life and the fruits of Love... the Propagation of the Infinite to commence.
