Violent Heart Acceleration
my life, chaotic from the start
my rates, now rising off the chart
the rapid impulse hyperdrive
dragged out to sea by a riptide
Evident Red Lining Correlation
Divergent Mind in Mitigation
the ups and downs, the in-between
no pause, the swinging in extremes
a brief encounter with my death
"relax, stay calm, deep breath"
Urging Changes with Persuasion
Chemically Induced Alleviation
pulling me from out of the deep
lowering the SBP, leveling the steep
let things go & ease the pressure
a calmer pace, more mindful leisure
Stop Chasing Exertion

Redlining and the Release
This "Hypertensive Haiku" ❤️🩹 was written in the raw aftermath of my recent hypertensive crisis – a physical manifestation of a life lived in overdrive. It's a raw snapshot of the urgency, the fear, and the desperate need for a change of pace. It's a reminder that the body shouts when the mind refuses to listen. It's a testament to the value and strength of those who show up for us, even when we've isolated ourselves behind a fortress of self-reliance.
It's a realization that my heart has been suffocating under a heavy burden, craving connection and the freedom to simply be.
This poem is a cry for help, but it's also a declaration of surrender. I am still learning to release the grip, to allow the tears to flow, to open my heart to the love that surrounds me. I am choosing to embrace a gentler pace, to breathe deeply, and to find joy in the simple moments.
I am immensely grateful to be alive and blessed to be able to continue my journey into healing, connecting, and discovering what it truly means to live a life filled with light and love.
