Don´t pretend you don´t know who I´m talking about:
The mommy you see in line at the grocery store with her child in the shopping cart that makes you change checkout line.
The one that looks disheveled and unkempt and makes you feel sorry for her and what you assume must be a very sad existence.
That mommy who brings her kids to the movie theater and once spotted makes everyone cross their fingers hoping she´ll sit far away with those little noise making monsters.
The woman sporting an oversized stroller awaiting the elevator that makes you beeline it for the escalator.
Starting to ring a bell? Well let me just say, I used to be like you. Especially the elevator scenario, because there was nothing more annoying to me than feeling even more claustrophobic during those endless three stories up / down than getting shoved or my foot run over by a stroller.
Yesterday, after my friends and I had coffee, we patiently awaited the only working elevator in the shopping mall because I dare not attempt to ride the escalator with my oversized stroller (yes! I managed to fix my broken stroller, but mind you I no longer trust it and only use it out of necessity but I move VERY SLOWLY). I was worried we´d never be able to get into said elevator, but let`s just say more than a few people fled upon sight of me and my giant patched-up stroller and my BF managed to scare away a few more with her sly self and "subtle" comments like "if they can walk, why not just take the escalators, it´s healthier"... ahh how I love my BF!
So yeah, I ran over a few people´s toes... and yes, I know I am now THAT mom, but I can´t help but get a kick out of it because I was once happy being like you and one day I know some of you will be happy being like me, so all I can say is enjoy the moment you are in and try to cut us mommies a little break once in a while ;) In the words of the great Dave Matthews..."every dog has its day and every day has its way of being forgotten".
