Feel the Heat
Shuddering body
Feverish heat
Drowned in tears
Into the depths
Only to find
Vast emptiness
Quiet the anxiety
Water down the lines
Pass the time
Block the thoughts
That lead the way
To insanity
Embers of Loss
Feeling broken
Feigning whole
Promoting lies
A beacon of light
Calling the blind
Into sight
Scared to know
There is no hope
For me inside
A lovely ray
That dimmed in May
Then dropped out of sight
Seeking Respite
An armor of steel
From fervid air
Reined in at night
Can talk the talk
But can’t walk the line
Unless on auto-drive
Reaching the goals
Hitting the peaks
Then wanting to die
Sleep in despair
Wake to purpose
Hit play, then rewind
