Is it kismet that the same day, Pope Francis held his first general audience and explained the meaning behind Holy Week as "..., the heart of the liturgical year, when we commemorate the great events that express most powerfully God’s loving plan for all men and women. Jesus enters Jerusalem in order to give himself completely. He gives us his body and his blood, and promises to remain with us always"? I think not, and so on that day I promised that, even though we are no longer "one", I will remain with her always.
What better way to do this than by starting a blog, and online journal if you must, a way to immortalize the thoughts, musings, trials and tribulations of a first time mother, far away from her own mother, in Guatemala, a country few people can find on a map but is the Mayan Jungle she calls home.
Someday I will be able to share it with Hannah, but until that day, I wish to share this blog publicly because I truly hope whoever happens across it will find my words amusing, honest, relateable, and yes... maybe even helpful and uplifting!
